Impressions of a young boy: Stretching our imagination through the imagery of lyrics and music, the writing team of McCartney and Lennon proved to be the most influential force within the world of music up to that point! Most young fans that gravitated to the guitar from the radically changing 60's era, can without question, credit the Beatles for providing the inspiration and that is why they are so inspiring today. Man, was it revolutionary! Not only was their sound something radically new, fresh and exciting, but the writing was superb! The radio airwaves were constant with their hits and we were wonderfully possessed with the hysteria! From the start, their tunes were beyond good, but as we anticipated each new release, the ongoing results were always met with how much they had grown each time as writers. The experimentation with sound and orchestration in a collage set them so far apart from everyone else in the music world from the same period. It's in my opinion why there still isn't anything that comes comparatively close in today's popular music scene. However, whether it may be single artists or bands, from th e onset of their arrival in the early 60's through current day, the Beatles music thrives and inspires. It is amazing how there is not a single day that goes by where one does not hear or see something about any or all of the Beatles! The combination of great voices, cool lyrics, unbelievable melodies and harmonies make up the core part. The fortunate addition of having an amazing producer, like the great George Martin, worked so well with his knowledge of classical music and technical sound experimentations and provided the unconventional backdrop for tunes such as "Penny Lane," "Strawberry Fields Forever," and "I am the Walrus" and these are only a few examples of more than 100 songs incorporating such embellishments. Also, the sound effects, studio technology, etc; made our listening experience a trip that never faded!
