With this program, The Hungarian State Folk Ensemble is the first among the professional ensembles in Hungary to have summarized the multifaceted dance and musical culture of the Highlands (Felvidék). In the name, the mountaneous region of historical Hungary is represented, now falling outside its borders and part of Slovakia.

The chore of the program is the collection Bela Bartok cumulated during his travels throughout the Highland and formed his rendition of the musical culture of this region. It draws attention to the life work and mentality which may set an example for today’s generation as well.
