The influence of The Beatles on the course of contemporary popular music and indeed upon the lifestyle of a generation can hardly be underestimated. For the larger part of the Swinging Sixties their music and fashions made haeadlines throughout the world. During that time a great deal of material was captured on newsreel footage that has become a unique historic record of not only their great career but also of the decade.
This documentary video features a compilation of this footage and includes film of their first US tour, their visit to Japan, promotional appearances with other artist's, press conferences together with more considered thoughts as the band began to break up.
Although not featuring the music of The Beatles this video provides a unique reminder of the Sixties and a time when the influence of British acts was at it's peak. Of those acts none were more influential than The Beatles and this documentary is an essential record of those times.

The outbreak of Beatle mania in Australia and New Zealand in June 1964 was arguably without equal anywhere in the World in terms of the sheer magnitude and scale of the social upheaval that took place. In spite of it's importance in many ways the tour was a chapter in Beatles history that the world overlooked.
This video presents airport interviews and footage taken in the streets of the cities visited, such as Darwin, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Brisbane. In addition is an in-depth interview with John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Jimmy Nicol who was deputising the indisposed Ringo Starr.
