Within the borders of Texas, black music was rich and vital with a particular sound all its own. Mance Lipscomb and Lightnin' Hopkins were two of the greatest blues men to record. Mance was a consummate country blues fingerpicker, while Lightnin' developed a fast jump style that fit well with post war blues.
