As a teenager, she was introduced to Jazz when she got her first stereo and began listening to the music of her favourite vocalists; Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday.As a student of Law and Theology, music had primarily always been for enjoyment until she discovered at the age of 19 that she was misdiagnosed and was in fact suffering from breast cancer - a revelation that didn’t just see Elisa face death in the face, but also make the decision that music was something she wanted to pursue professionally. She began this in the Autumn of 2005, upon the encouragement of her husband and best friend and fellow musician Jo Caleb.
