"I just got the CD & DVD new release by Hoppy Kamiyama (aka God Mountain). My first impression is that this is among the best ever things i experienced from a DVD & CD. The music features a whole orchestra + Yoshida on drums. It's a killer one which can be compared to Zappa, Ruins, Koenji, you name it. A MUST SEE, A MUST HAVE. "This really is a great DVD - and I think that's how I experience it, as a short "movie" (with animation, computer graphics and live sequences) and soundtrack. The live sequences (featuring a lot of in-studio band performance) reminded me a lot of the videos I've seen from the 70s and 80s of progressive rock bands playing live in the studio (maybe Zappa did this, though I've not seen him in particular). The graphic stuff is the real draw to me, using lots of classic Atari-style pixel animation, but very bizarre. Lysergic animation? Anyway, it's short (about 30 mins), but *very* entertaining, especially if you happen to be into technical avant-prog - which I assume most of you are!"-Dominique Leone.
