The first ever DVD to feature one of the most influential Punk Rock bands of all time – Alternative TV Formed in 1977, ATV was the brainchild of Mark Perry, the then editor of probably the most seminal and revered of all Punk fanzines, Sniffin’ Glue. There have been numerous line-up changes throughout the band’s twenty-eight year history, but Perry remains the focal point of the group.
ATV soon gained a riotous fanbase and released their first single (the classic “Love Lies Limp”) given away free with Sniffin’ Glue. The band soon signed with Fun City Records and released another punk classic single in “How Much Longer?”. An album soon followed before various differences led to the end of ATV mk 1.
However, Mark Perry revived the band in 1984 and since then they have continued to tour and record – holding on to a die-hard core fanbase - around the world. “Splitting In Two” features a selection of live performances from Mark and the band at several festivals and shows throughout the UK, including the ever popular Holidays In The Sun festival in Blackpool and London’s world famous 100 Club.
Amongst the tracks featured are Independent Chart top twenty hit “Action Time Vision”, along with classic Punk singles “Love Lies Limp”, “How Much Longer” and “Viva La Rock n Roll”. The DVD also features an exclusive in-depth interview with Alternative TV founder Mark Perry.
