The Business got their start in 1979 as part of the UKs second wave of punk. The band was considered a leader of the "oi" movement, an edgy breed of punk rock that explored themes of street culture and working class rebellion. While adopting this aggressive style, The Business also explored the anthem song format, as seen in tunes like their debut-single "Harry May."
