Jones, Topper Headon, Johnny Green, Pennie Smith, Glen
Matlock and many others who talk openly and frankly
about their relationship with the former Clash legend
whose sudden and untimely passing stunned the music
world in December 2002. Shot on location in Joe's old
stomping ground of Notting Hill and Camden Town. This
film follows his career from its' humble beginnings with
London squat band 'The 101ers' right through to his
stadium filling tours with the 'The Clash' and then to
his triumphant return to the fore with his own band 'The
Mescaleros'. 'Viva Joe Strummer' sets out to once and
for all tell the true story of one of rock n' roll's
truly great visionaries and with the help of his friends
and fans will do just that.
