Up until 2006 Anneke van Giersbergen was the front woman of The Gathering. In 2007 she found her way into the charts by herself with her album Air (2007). This was followed by Pure Air (2009) and In Your Room (2009). To support these albums Anneke toured all over the world. She performed in Greece, France, Norway, Sweden, Romania, Finland, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Lebanon, Turkey and Spain. Some of these shows were recorded and these live songs are now compiled on ‘Live in Europe’.
