Formed in 2008, Sleigh Bells have gathered momentum quickly to become one of the most promising bands in the US. The Brooklyn duo (Derek E. Miller and Alexis Krauss) have been lauded by the likes of New York Times and Pitchfork, and they are signed to N.E.E.T Recordings which is MIA’s label. “Treats” is their excellent debut album which is noise pop at its finest with big leanings towards industrial and hip hop beats and searing rock riffs. Undoubtedly one of the hottest bands on the underground circuit in 2010, Sleigh Bells have garnered very positive reviews across the music press and they are a must see if you get the chance to check them out. There is a lot of hype on Sleigh Bells at the moment and whether that lasts will remain to be seen, but for the moment “Treats” is exactly what is says it is. Treat yourself. - © Pat Baker
