In this superb concert performance recorded in at Belgium's famous Lokerse Festival in 2003 - at a time when he was making a successful comeback - Terence Trent D'Arby is on top form, confirming that he has retained every bit of his precocious talent and charisma as a performer. When he burst seemingly from nowhere onto the international pop scene in 1987 he was universally hailed as a major new talent and the pop world's next big thing. Born and raised in the States by parents actively involved in the gospel music field, he had in fact begun his musical career several years earlier whilst stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army, before moving to London where he was signed by Columbia Records. His self-confident, brash manner, bordering on arrogance, made him headline material with the U.K.'s press and media which, coupled with his catchy songs blending funk, gospel and soul, resulted in his first four singles all making the UK Top Twenty. The two biggest of these, ''Sign Your Name' and 'Wishing Well', made the top four on both sides of the Atlantic, the latter topping the charts in the States. His aptly-titled 1987 debut album, 'Introducing The Hardline According To...' reportedly sold over a million copies in its first three days of release, going on to sell over twelve million and earning him a Grammy Award in 1988 for Best R& B Performance.
