One of the forerunners of the new wave of British heavy metal, Raven almost singlehandedly kicked off the thrash-metal genre with their fast, hard riffs and near-operatic, wailing vocals. Formed in 1970s Newcastle, England, by the original Gallagher brothers, Mark and John, as well as first-rate drummer Rob "Wacko" Hunter, Raven were at their creative peak in the early 1980s, when they released their first two albums ROCK UNTIL YOU DROP (1981) and WIPED OUT (1982). This program captures the band in those fertile early years with rare live performances of three classic songs: "Rock "Til You Drop," "For the Future," and "Chainsaw."
