The Selecter, alongside The Specials and Madness, spearheaded the 2-Tone Movement.

Fronted by lead vocalist Pauline Black, The Selecter enjoyed great chart success with the singles “The Selecter” (flip side of The Special’s “Gangsters”), “On My Radio”, “Three Minute Hero” and “Missing Words” and their debut album “Too Much Pressure”, all released on the ‘2-Tone label’.

The Selecter’s music is still influencing today’s generation dance duo “Basement Jaxx”, who sampled “On The Radio” for the track “Same Old Show” on the album “Remedy”.  ‘No Doubt’ chose The Selecter as special guest on their ‘Tragic Kingdom’ USA Arena Tour; singer Gwen Stefani cites Pauline as a major influence.
